Actress Rita Edochie Applauds Soludo As Pipe-Borne Water Returns To Parts Of Onitsha

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has reacted after pipe-borne water reportedly flowed again in parts of Onitsha, Anambra State, bringing relief to some residents.

The actress shared the development on her official Instagram page, @ritaedochie, stating that on Thursday, March 12, 2026, some residents of Enu Onitsha who were fortunate enough to be informed quickly rushed to fetch water from available taps in the area.

According to her, the return of running water brought excitement to residents who had not seen water flowing from their taps for a long time. However, she noted that the moment did not last long, explaining that the taps, which had remained dry since after the Anambra State governorship election, only ran briefly.

Rita Edochie also commended Anambra State Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for responding to the concerns of residents following her earlier appeal over the lack of pipe-borne water in the area.

She stated that access to basic amenities such as water and electricity is essential for everyday living, stressing that the absence of these services has made life more difficult for many households.

The actress further expressed hope that the recent flow of water might be part of a test run of equipment, appealing that such tests should be conducted regularly and last several hours so residents can have access to clean water.

Edochie also highlighted the difficulties faced by residents who rely on boreholes, noting that unstable electricity supply and the rising cost of petroleum products have made pumping water increasingly expensive.

She concluded by emphasising the importance of water for daily activities such as drinking, cooking, bathing, washing clothes, and maintaining clean surroundings, while expressing hope that steady pipe-borne water supply will soon be restored across the area.
