Toyosi Etim-Effiong, wife of Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong, has shared her thoughts on marriage, infidelity, and forgiveness, sparking widespread reactions online.
The remarks were made during her appearance on the Toke Moments podcast hosted by media personality Toke Makinwa. A clip from the conversation was shared on Toke Makinwa’s verified Instagram page, @tokemakinwa.
In the interview, Toyosi spoke candidly about how she navigates challenges in her marriage, revealing that cheating alone is not a deal-breaker for her. According to Toyosi, her approach to marital issues is deeply rooted in faith. She disclosed that she founded a prayer group known as the “Wives of Entertainers Prayer Group”, where wives regularly come together to pray for their husbands. She explained that rather than ending a marriage over infidelity, she prioritises spiritual covering and seeking divine guidance.
She further noted that sustaining a marriage requires love, commitment, resilience, and intentional communication. Toyosi stressed that patience and understanding are especially important in marriages involving public figures, where external pressure and scrutiny are often heightened.
Her comments have continued to generate mixed reactions on social media, with users debating the role of forgiveness, faith, and infidelity in long-term marriages, while others applauded her honesty and unconventional perspective on marital challenges.
