BB Naija Star Queen Mercy Atang And Family Members Escape Harm As POP Ceiling Collapses In Her Home

Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Queen Mercy Atang has narrated a frightening experience after the POP ceiling in her sitting room collapsed, narrowly missing members of her household.

The actress shared videos of the incident on her official Instagram page, @queenmercyatang, where she described the experience as an act of divine protection. According to her, the ceiling caved in early in the morning while her younger sister and nanny were awake and sewing, forcing them to run for safety.

Queen Mercy explained that she returned home around 4 a.m. after working late into the night and picking up a close associate who had just arrived in Nigeria for a Guinness World Record project. Due to the late hour, she asked her workers to rest in the sitting room and leave once it was morning. While one eventually left, she persuaded the other to stay back for safety reasons. She added that by about 6 a.m., the remaining worker had also left, while her younger sister and nanny continued working instead of sleeping in the sitting room as they usually do. Moments later, the POP ceiling collapsed.

The actress further disclosed that this was the second ceiling collapse in her home within a few weeks, noting that her garage ceiling had also fallen earlier. She described the incident as deeply alarming and said it prompted her to reconsider her family’s living arrangement. Queen Mercy revealed that she is now planning to move her family to a safer and more comfortable space following the incident.

She concluded by expressing gratitude to God for sparing her family, thanking Him for His love and protection.
