Akwa Ibom Governor Approves ₦50,000 Allowance For 33,461 Applicants, Sets January 2026 For Oral Interviews
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced major updates on the ongoing civil service recruitment exercise, affirming his administration’s commitment to transparency and fairness.
In a statement posted on his official Instagram page, the governor revealed that he has approved the invitation of 12,502 candidates who scored 50% or above in the recently concluded Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the next stage of oral interviews.
As part of efforts to ease the financial burden on applicants, Governor Eno also approved a ₦50,000 transport and lunch allowance for each of the 33,461 individuals who participated in the screening process. He noted that no applicant should be hindered by financial challenges while pursuing an employment opportunity.
The Governor disclosed that oral interviews will begin in January 2026 and directed the Head of Civil Service to commence preparations for the induction of newly recruited safety officers and lawyers. He also ordered the start of comprehensive safety audits across ministries, departments, agencies, and public facilities.
Governor Umo Eno commended the recruitment committee for their diligence, describing their work as instrumental in building a credible and inclusive civil service system.
