Nuclear Warning! Gumi Accuses Trump of Fighting Muslims, Not Terrorists: Reveals The Real Crisis Target and Danger of Foreign Meddling

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has just thrown a massive stone into the Nigerian political water. The popular Islamic cleric is sounding a loud alarm, warning Nigerians about the potential dangers lurking behind recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump concerning our security challenges. Gumi did not mince words. He claims that foreign interference in Nigeria's sensitive security matters could actually set the country on fire, rather than bringing peace.

Speaking in a heated interview on News Central TV, Gumi made a statement that has Nigerians talking across every state. He directly quoted his fear, saying, "He’s coming to fight Muslims, not terrorists, and that’s what we are trying to avoid." According to the cleric, Trump’s approach is fundamentally flawed. It risks misidentifying the genuine culprits and, worse still, inflaming religious divisions in an already tense and fragile nation. This is a crucial mistake we cannot afford.

Gumi tackled the popular, but controversial, narrative that the violence in the Nigerian Middle Belt—places like Plateau, Benue, and Southern Kaduna—is simply a "Christian genocide." He argued passionately that this framing is misleading and extremely harmful. The problem, Gumi insisted, is largely rooted in deep-seated land disputes and bitter clashes between different communities. Both Muslims and Christians have lost their lives in these tragic conflicts. Labelling it as purely religious persecution serves political interests more than it serves the truth.

The prominent cleric then issued a stern warning about the history of international involvement. Gumi alleged that global powers often fuel conflicts in countries like ours, even arming militant groups just to push their own political agenda. "Nigeria must be careful," he advised. Similar foreign interference right now could easily destabilize all the fragile peace efforts currently underway across the troubled areas. Instead of solving insecurity, it could make things ten times worse.

What is the way forward, according to Sheikh Gumi? Local solutions! He emphasized that sustainable peace will only come through dialogue, mediation, and actively rehabilitating fighters who are willing to repent and drop their arms. Gumi highlighted tangible progress already made in places like Southern Kaduna, where community-led initiatives are slowly but surely bringing down the level of violence. He concluded by urging every Nigerian to remain united, drop the external narratives, and focus on careful, homegrown peacebuilding. Avoiding foreign meddling, Gumi stressed, is absolutely critical to maintaining stability and preventing further polarization.

What Do You Think?

Does Gumi have a point about Trump's intentions? Are foreign powers making Nigeria's insecurity worse?
