Actress and politician Doris Ogala has reacted sharply to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s public threat to expose internal Senate WhatsApp conversations, condemning the senator’s approach as unbecoming of a distinguished lawmaker.
Earlier, Senator Natasha had taken to social media with a bold message directed at Senator Osita Ngwu of Enugu West Senatorial District, accusing him of deleting her comments in the senators’ WhatsApp forum. She demanded that her comments be restored and responses reopened, warning that she would otherwise “bring the discussion to the public domain.”
Shortly after Natasha’s post gained traction, Doris Ogala publicly called her out on Instagram. In a lengthy post, Ogala stated that she admired Natasha but felt compelled to advise her, describing the senator’s repeated habit of publicising internal legislative matters as unnecessary and attention-seeking. She warned that this behaviour could isolate her from colleagues and create unnecessary tension within the Senate.
Ogala also referenced Natasha’s past suspension, noting that despite rejecting the seat involved in the controversy, she eventually returned to it after serving her six-month suspension. She further pointed out that Nigerians had yet to see the evidence Natasha once claimed to have against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Expressing disappointment, Doris Ogala said it was embarrassing to witness such conduct from a senator, urging Natasha to carry herself with the dignity expected of her office.
