STRIPPED, BEATEN, DETAINED! 6 NYSC Corpers Drag Governor Soludo To Court, Demand ₦1 Billion!

Just when we thought the drama was over, the battle line has been drawn! Six brave members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have dropped a massive lawsuit that is shaking the foundation of Anambra State Government and its boss, Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The demand? A staggering ₦1 Billion Naira in damages! Yes, you read that right. One billion!

The Shocking August Attack

Many of you will remember the heartbreaking viral video from August. That video showed the moment operatives of the Anambra vigilante group, known as Agunechemba, stormed a Corpers’ Lodge.

The scene was pure wahala. These gun-wielding vigilantes didn't come to greet; they came for war!

Despite the young graduates flashing their official NYSC identity cards, the vigilantes allegedly attacked them ruthlessly, accusing them of being 'Yahoo Boys' (internet fraudsters).

One of the victims, Jennifer Elohor, was reportedly beaten and stripped naked by the men. Imagine the trauma! Your one-year service turns into a nightmare of illegal arrest and public humiliation.

The Corpers Fight Back!

The young patriots—Jennifer Elohor, Greatness Oyeh, Eze Ikenna, Anighoro Godspower, Feyisara Amore, and Chimenum Wonodi—decided enough was enough. They are not keeping quiet!

Through their lawyer, Cyrus Onu, they have sued the State Government, Governor Soludo, the State Attorney-General, and the vigilante group at the Federal High Court in Awka.

They are saying their fundamental human rights were brutally violated.

The Bill: ₦1 Billion and a Public Apology

The six Corpers are not just asking for money. They want justice for the mental, physical, emotional, and psychological trauma they suffered.

Their suit is demanding the court to declare the torture and detention as illegal and unconstitutional.

More importantly, they want the respondents to issue a written, public apology! This apology must be published in at least two national newspapers and one local Anambra paper.

This lawsuit is a huge challenge to the government and a strong message to local security outfits: Nobody is above the law!

What do you think of this huge ₦1 Billion demand? Share your thoughts in the comments! Should the Governor and the State pay for the actions of their vigilantes?
