Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has released a deeply emotional open letter to mark his 25th anniversary in the entertainment industry.
The message was shared via his official Instagram handle, @official2baba, where he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people who contributed to his journey from obscurity to global acclaim.
In the letter titled “Open Letter of Gratitude – 2Baba @ 25 Years in the Industry”, the award-winning singer reflected on his remarkable career, acknowledging his wife, family, friends, industry colleagues, mentors, and millions of fans around the world. He credited their unwavering support as the foundation of his success, stating that every milestone he achieved was made possible by their belief in his vision.
2Baba extended special appreciation to industry veterans such as Nelson Brown, Baba Keke, Eddie Lawani, DJ Jimmy Jatt, and his long-time manager Efe Omorogbe. He also paid tribute to his former group members, BlackFace and Faze, describing the Plantashun Boiz as a brotherhood that helped redefine the sound of Nigerian music.
Reflecting on his legacy, he stated that his journey represents more than music—it is a story of resilience, faith, unity, and love.
The music legend announced that his official 25th anniversary celebration will take place on November 14, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
He concluded the letter by expressing eternal gratitude, writing, “Without you, there’d be no me. I am because you believed.”
