Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has shown her support for justice in the case of Ochanya Ogbanje, a 13-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted by those meant to protect her. The chef donated ₦502,000 to a GoFundMe campaign seeking justice for the late teenager.
Hilda shared the announcement on her verified Instagram page, @hildabaci, posting evidence of her donation alongside an emotional message. She revealed that her contribution was meant to inspire others to join the movement for justice — whether through financial donations or by spreading awareness.
According to her, people who may not have the means to donate money can still make a difference by using their voices and platforms to share verified information and stand for what is right.
Beyond her initial contribution, Hilda also pledged an additional ₦2 million to support two credible organisations that assist rape and sexual abuse survivors. She called on her followers to suggest trustworthy groups that could benefit from the funds.
The tragic story of Ochanya recently resurfaced after reports emerged that the main suspects, Andrew and Victor Ogbuja, were discharged and acquitted—a development that has triggered national outrage and demands for accountability.
Hilda concluded by stressing the importance of unity, compassion, and collective action in achieving justice and protecting young girls. She added that no child should ever endure pain in silence or be denied justice, urging society to stand up for what is right.
