Celebrity barman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest (@cubana_chiefpriest) has reacted to billionaire businessman Cosmas Maduka, who recently criticised those who publicly declare “money na water”.
The nightlife entrepreneur took to his Instagram Stories to defend his statement, explaining that the phrase represents modern financial wisdom rather than vanity.
According to him, the world has evolved from the traditional idea of quiet wealth to an age where visibility and influence have become the new currencies. In his words, “With all due respect to the motivational speaking older generation who built wealth quietly, the world you thrived in is not the one we live in today. In your time, capital was factories, fleets, and real estate. In our time, attention is the main capital.”
He added that what was once seen as noise is now a tool for influence and success, stressing that attention and content creation are the new drivers of wealth. “Visibility has become the new currency; obscurity is bankruptcy,” he wrote, urging critics to understand the shift from industrial capitalism to attention capitalism in the digital economy.
