BB Naija Star Tochi Shades VeryDarkMan For Turning Activism Into An iPhone 17 Business

Reality TV star and actor Tochi Okechukwu (@tochi.official) has subtly called out controversial activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) after the latter recently began selling upgraded iPhone 17 models online.

In a post shared via his Instagram Story, Tochi criticised what he described as the hypocrisy of some activists who once spoke passionately about social issues but now appear more focused on promoting luxury gadgets and personal gain. He stated that it takes true discipline to remain an activist and not just bold talk when life is hard. “Now you’ve made some money, and suddenly activism has turned into an iPhone 17 hustle,” he wrote.

Tochi went on to emphasise that genuine activism means standing with the people even after success, not turning influence into a marketplace. “You’re not different from the rest — same game, same hypocrisy. You just want to sell your market,” he added.

His post quickly went viral, with many linking his words to VDM, accusing him of abandoning his earlier principles and prioritising business over advocacy.
