Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has once again demanded justice for the late Ochanya Ogbanje, the teenage girl who tragically lost her life after years of sexual abuse.
The actress made the call in an emotional post shared on her verified Instagram page, @bimboademoye, where she expressed deep frustration over the delay in securing justice for the deceased.
In her post, Bimbo expressed relief that the case has been reopened but condemned the fact that it was ever closed without justice being served. She described her pain at knowing that those responsible for the heinous act are still free and living normal lives, stating that such failures of the justice system are disheartening.
Ademoye revealed that she first spoke out about Ochanya’s case in 2018, and now, seven years later, she is still pleading for justice. She prayed that this time the system would not fail Ochanya again, adding that she hopes Uwaila and Yakubu, other victims of similar injustices, also get justice.
The actress further criticised the judge who previously acquitted Ochanya’s alleged abusers, describing the ruling as unfair and unjust. She called on the authorities to ensure the perpetrators are held accountable and urged Nigerians not to allow the case to fade into another social media trend.
Bimbo concluded her message with a prayer for Ochanya’s soul, expressing hope that this renewed public outcry will finally bring closure and justice.
