Nollywood actress and activist Gina Onuoha has intensified her criticism of Senator Ned Nwoko following new allegations circulating online regarding the treatment of his wife, Regina Daniels. This development comes after Regina’s brother, Sir Sammy West (@sir.sammywest), claimed via Instagram that the senator physically assaulted his sister—a claim that has ignited widespread public outrage.
Gina Onuoha, in her earlier statement on Instagram @realgina.onu, condemned Senator Nwoko’s conduct, calling his public response to Regina’s alleged distress “humiliating, insensitive, and unbecoming of a public official.” She questioned his leadership and moral judgement after he released a statement labelling his wife a “drug addict” just hours after videos surfaced suggesting she faced domestic abuse.
Referring to the allegations, Gina highlighted the inconsistency in the senator’s narrative, pointing out that Regina entered his home as a teenager and questioning how she could suddenly develop such issues under his supervision. She emphasised that such claims may indicate emotional neglect or abuse within the home rather than personal failure.
In light of Sammy West’s recent outburst, in which he accused the senator of “beating Regina and smashing her head against the wall,” Gina’s stance has gained renewed public attention. She argues that a man of Senator Nwoko’s status should be a protector, not a public accuser or alleged aggressor.
The allegations have sparked nationwide reactions, with Nigerians calling for a full investigation and urging authorities to prioritise Regina Daniels’ safety.
