Nigerian cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele has stirred the political pot again. In a video shared on Facebook, he warned that some leaders are focusing on the wrong “opponents,” and they may be losing the game altogether.
Ayodele started by calling out political figures who shy away from confronting real issues.
> “Problems are there in your government, but you lack boldness to confront them. You fear people. The more you fear, the more power you concede,” he said.
Then came the bombshell:
> “You are not facing Jonathan. No, it is Atiku that you will face,” Ayodele declared, making it clear who he believes will be the real challenger in 2027.
He didn’t stop there. He cautioned that giving influence to certain individuals is dangerous, saying,
> “And the fool is, they are ready to stand by him, and you are giving them full power.”
This revelation comes in a season when political contenders are lining up for the 2027 race. Ayodele, known for his prophetic statements, seems to be sending a strong signal: don’t underestimate Atiku.
Why This Warning Matters
Misplaced focus is dangerous. If those in power aim at the wrong rivals, they risk losing ground to the real ones.
Influence is shifting. Ayodele implies that some political actors are gaining ground behind the scenes, giving them power is risky.
The 2027 landscape is evolving. With early moves already in play, this critique could shape how insiders reposition themselves.
What to Watch Before 2027
- Will President Tinubu react to this warning publicly?
 - Will Atiku respond or make strategic moves that confirm Ayodele’s prophecy?
 - Which players are building influence quietly—and might surprise us later?
